Backed by New Zealand's Innovation Agency

Building for the World, Backed by the NZ Govt Innovation Agency

We're stoked to announce we've been accepted into Callaghan Innovation's New to R&D grant program, so they're contributing 40% co-funding to our first major development. We're in good company - Callaghan has backed Xero, Rocket Lab, and Zespri along the way.

The support lets us move faster on a project that's been in mind for a decade. We can't spill all the details yet, but we're building computer vision and machine learning tools for the outdoors, delivering experiences that are simple and effortless to use.

What This Means

The grant means we can hire locally and deepen domain knowledge in New Zealand - CV/ML expertise applied to outdoor recreation, robust IP strategy, and customer feedback mechanisms that actually work. Our intellectual property stays here and strengthens our tech community's capability in these areas.

Why We Care About NZ Tech

We're passionate about building New Zealand Inc, and there's something rare about the talent pool here.

Smaller companies mean people wear more hats. Engineers and developers see the bigger picture while staying curious enough to dig deep into hard technical problems when needed. That range has built a community of exceptionally smart, driven people doing great work.

Building on that foundation is our commitment to a sector that's given us this chance.

What's Next

Right now, we're scoping the architecture, testing our assumptions, and pushing what CV and ML can do in outdoor recreation. Callaghan Innovation's backing gives us the runway to do it properly.

We'll share what we can as we go. For now, we're heads-down, building something we think will matter.
