Meet Brevn's Small Team

Decades of product experience with global brands drives what we do.

How It Started

In December 2024, we headed to the far north of New Zealand to go fishing. Over a quiet beer in the evening, we realized we were both looking for the same thing: a chance to step away from the corporate grind and build something with a clear, simple purpose.

We didn't want to just make more "stuff." We wanted to use our decades of experience designing for big global brands to strip away the noise and have less impact on the environment.

Brevn is the result of that decision. We combine deep technical expertise with a love for the outdoors to create products and experiences that respect your time, your attention, and the places you explore. Our goal is simple: to build things that are easy to understand, satisfying to use, and support your adventure without getting in the way.

Paul Bailey

Paul had become disillusioned with the state of design. He spent over a decade leading design at one of the world’s largest consumer marine electronics companies, shaping the visual design and overall physical and digital experience for brands like Lowrance and Simrad.

Paul believes modern technology is too complicated and asks for too much attention. He wants to give that focus back to you so you can stay in the moment. You shouldn't have to be an expert to use a product. The gear should just help you be more engaged in the things you love.

This philosophy drives Brevn. He prioritizes restraint over noise to build products that feel trustworthy and refined but still have a little bit of magic. He wants the experience to feel special every time you use it.

When he's not working tirelessly on Brevn, he is usually outdoors. You'll find him fishing, manning the BBQ, making pizza, or hanging out with his dog Lizzy (if you look closely, you'll see her somewhere on this site).

Mike Edgington

Mike has decades of experience working with leading global brands in the marine industry, including Railblaza, Maxwell Winches, and BEP Marine, delivering dependable and innovative products worldwide. He has worked in operations, procurement, R&D, engineering, sales and marketing, and led as General Manager.

Mike believes the customer should always get what they need, when they need it, and works tirelessly to ensure quality and delivery are always a priority.

That's only 40(ish) hours of his week though, after that mountain biking, fishing and conservation are his passions.

Mike is driven by his commitment to sustainability, quality, and creating products that simplify life - principles that form the foundations of Brevn.
